Sonya did her early training & BHS exams at Sparsholt College in Hampshire 1989 – 1992

She went on to work for the World’s best including two years spent with Michael Whitaker as an International groom and rider. Other equine roles include training and competing on Lars Hedin's horses (with Stuart Harvey) and trainee showjumper with Fred Welch.

Sonya produced her own Show Jumpers for over 15 years. She was also a keen athlete. An introduction to dressage on her former showjumper and then riding to Prix St George on a schoolmaster saw a progression into this discipline.
She has been training horses and riders for many years but spinal surgery in 2008 meant a greater focus on coaching. Sonya now regularly provides private lessons and group clinics at her Hampshire base of Bere Meadows and also by invitation for Academies, Riding Clubs & Private Yards.

Sonya also continues to to produce her own homebred young dressage horses.
